This is one of Australia’s largest maritime museums, where you will discover historic vessels of all shapes and sizes. Founded in 1971 the Museum contains a wide collection of maritime artifacts, books, documents and photographs. Located at the southern end of Brisbane’s South Bank Parklands, it incorporates the Heritage-listed South Brisbane Dry Dock, in which Diamantina, the world’s last remaining River Class frigate of World War II, is berthed. There’s a complimentary audio tour and children will especially enjoy exploring the big exhibits, which include the lugger Penguin.
