An important Heritage site, the House was both a private residence and official state office for Governor Bowen, the colony’s first governor, and continued to be the home of Queensland’s governors until 1910.
After a major restoration, it is now an historic museum and gallery housing the works of renowned Australian landscape artist William Robinson. There are monthly concerts by local orchestras and regular guided tours of Old Government House.
Admission is free, but bookings are essential.
