Golden Drop Winery is a true family affair. Located just outside Mareeba, in the heart of Australia’s Tropical North Queensland, Golden Drop is owned and operated by Charles Nastasi and wife Lucy, together with their sons, Sam and wife Jackie, Dino and wife Maria, daughter Grace and sister Lena. It’s also very different from other wineries: all of its wines are made from Australian Kensington red mangoes.
The property was originally a tobacco farm, but with the looming demise of the industry Charles decided to diversify from tobacco and planted his first mango trees in 1975. Since then, his plantation has grown to have in excess of 17,500 trees, making it one of the largest mango plantations in Australia.
Locals and tourists from all over the world now visit the winery every day for the unique experience of visiting a working mango plantation and to sample its refreshing tropical mango wines.
