Melt 2017

Tough Mudder

Tough Mudder is a 16- to 20-kilometre course the organisers of which claim is probably the ‘toughest event on the planet’… probably’. Now a national movement, the Tough Mudder comes to a brand new location: Woodford in south-east Queensland, to challenge the locals and visitors alike.

Australian Life Saving Championships
25 March to 2 April 2017

Known as ‘the Aussies’ this event is the largest of its kind and in 2017 it heads back to North Kirra Beach. With previous events attracting over 7000 competitors, spectators can expect to see an overwhelming display of surf life saving experts in action.

Mary Poppins Festival in the Park
1 July 2017

Not a lot of people know that the author of Mary Poppins, Pamela Travers, was born in Maryborough, and this festival aims to rectify that. A week-long celebration of this wonderful character makes for a practically perfect spree for budding Janes and Michaels of all shapes and sizes. Don’t miss the Nanny Challenge, the Chimney Sweep Dash, kite displays, vintage cars and more. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, indeed.
